Field Work
Standard
Our agent attends the supplied address and attempts to interview the debtor to determine the reason(s) for non-payment.
If the debtor is present at the address we attempt to collect the arrears on an account, or if requested the full balance. Failing that, we attempt to obtain at least a token payment. We also attempt to obtain an offer of an ongoing repayment arrangement. Whilst taking the details of their offer, the agent informs the debtor that the offer will be referred to the creditor for review and not accepted until they receive confirmation of same from the creditor.
Whether the debtor makes a payment or not, we attempt to obtain or update their contact details including home phone, mobile phone, work phone, employer name and position title or benefit type.
Whilst on the premises we note the details of all vehicles (make, model, registration and value) on the premises as well as furnishings that are visible from the agents position at the front door. We also report the physical description of the property (construction, size, maintenance) and the description of the person interviewed (name, age, height, weight and hair colour). Please note, we do not report the ethnicity of the interviewee.
If the debtor has absconded from the address, we interview the occupant and neighbours with a view to obtaining the managing/selling agents details and if possible a forwarding address.
