Repossession of Goods

Stoneink agents do not enter the debtors domicile until authority has been granted by the occupant under S.155(1) & 91(1) of UCCC.

Credit / ATM Card

Our agent attends the supplied address and repossesses the card from the customer. They snap the card in half whilst still in front of the customer. If the customer claims to have surrendered, destroyed or lost the card previously we have the customer sign a declaration affirming the method of prior disposal. Our agent also attempts to make an arrangement for the payment of the overdue amount or the full balance whichever your office prefers.

Vehicle

Our agent attends the supplied address and if the vehicle is on public property secures the vehicle.

Our agent then attempts to speak with the debtor and obtain the full amount outstanding.

If the vehicle is on private property the debtor is asked to move the vehicle onto public property.

If the debtor cannot provide the amount due in cash or certified funds, our agent contacts a local tow firm and supervises the debtors removal of any personal belongings from the vehicle. Upon arrival of the tow truck the agent furnishes the driver with the details required by the auctioneer and informs the driver to deliver the vehicle to the creditors chosen auctioneers premises.

If the vehicle cannot be towed by a tow truck, a licenced operator for the vehicle is contacted and an agent travels with that person in the security to the auctioneer, storage facility or designated destination.

eg. In the case of a boat being housed at a marina we will utilise the services of a licenced pilot, to navigate the goods to the storage facility.

In all circumstances, detailed notes are taken of the condition of the vehicle with specific regard to damage and fixtures.

Stoneink only uses flat bed tow trucks for the repossession of road vehicles, to minimise the chance of damage.

Goods

Our agent attends the given address and attempts to speak with the debtor and obtain the full amount outstanding, if the debtor cannot provide this in cash or certified funds, our agent asks for permission to enter the premises to remove the goods.

Once permission is obtained, our agent has the debtor sign a consent form, granting authority under S. 155(1) & 91(1) of the UCCC.

The goods are then removed from the premises and taken to the auctioneer or designated drop off point of your choice.

If the goods cannot be taken to the auctioneer that day (due to the repossession having occurred after the auctioneer closes) the goods are taken to a secure facility owned by Stoneink.
